Covid‐19 Policy & Procedures Outline

Due to the outbreak of the Covid‐19 Virus, Rosegarden Landscapers Inc. has Implemented New Policies & Procedures for all Exterior Litter & Landscaping Services. Effective May 4th, 2020 and on … all landscape & litter duties will operate with a skeleton crew. All Employees will practice all safety measures implemented and maintain a clean work environment by practicing & following the specific guidelines below.

Please read and follow all procedures and safety measures as listed below:

  1. If coming to the yard to pick up your work Truck, please do not leave your personal vehicle until another crew member leaves the yard. (The same applies when returning from your day’s work.)
  2. All Time sheets and paper work are to be left or picked- up in the designated areas of the shop for each member of the team as indicated, so that the office staff can retrieve all materials when it is safe to do so. This is so we all maintain our distance. Should any questions or concerns need to be addressed please feel free to contact the office for clarification.
  3. All employees are to use their own personal delegated equipment (i.e. truck, weed eaters, mowers, hand tools, safety supplies which are supplied to every employee. etc.).
  4. Always use your own Personal Protective Equipment, which is provided to you by Rosegarden Landscapers Inc. at all times while in close proximity to other employee’s or customers.
  5. If renting equipment is necessary, wipe down all cab areas, handles, starters and so on with sanitary products supplied before handling and after use.
  6. All employees must have and maintain a distance of 2 meters apart when dealing with the each other or the public, (If any Condo Board of Directors or Property Managers approach you please inform them to contact the office with any questions or concerns regarding the property. They may email all correspondence to the office or call about any inquiries – no public contact).
  7. Mandatory hand sanitizer for employee use in each truck/trailer as well as all PPE & cleaning material.
  8. Rosegarden Landscapers Inc.’s office has imposed a “Locked Door” policy to the public. If you or anyone needs to contact office, please call 905‐755‐8999 or email at rosegardenlandscapersinc@rogers.com
  9. All consultations & Tailgate Talks to take place outdoors, and to remain 2 meters apart from one another before any work commences. All safety practices are to be reinforced on a regular basis during these talks.
  10. Respect personal space – 2 meters of personal space should always be maintained. Social distancing is extremely important in common areas and within all work areas. Always be cautious of your surroundings and others around you.
  11. Crews are not to overlap into other trucks (i.e. no mixing of crews on site or in trucks). One person per truck is mandatory and each and every other crew member will be driving to the sites in their own vehicle, allowing all employee’s to maintain their distance from one another and to be caring their own equipment with them for their own personal use daily.
    *The only exception to the rule is if two people are family members and living with in the same household. Then they will be permitted to drive in the same vehicle together.
  12. Use one person to handle material when possible (i.e. Each type of equipment will be designated to the employee that will be operating it and should always be wiped down in order to keep it sanitized, carrying of any products such as flowers, soil mulch etc. will be done in manner where once an employee has loaded the material and walks away then the other employee can begin to load up their material and do the same. Maintaining an assembly line so that no two employees will be in the same area at the same time. “Remember to alternate wisely”.
  13. Be aware of personal hygiene: sneeze into arm, to blow your nose use Kleenex, hand wash with water & soap as well as using hand sanitizer and no spitting on the ground will be permitted.
  14. If you stop at public washrooms, carry your sanitizer along with you and sanitize door handles, faucets & wipe down toilets before & after use. Wash & sanitize your hands as well (Practice this before and after entering/leaving any public washroom.)
  15. Each employee to wipe down their area and the truck before and after a shift. (All Commonly used areas)
  16. All employees should bring their lunches and beverages to work especially during the threat of COVID-19 all personal lunches/ drinks are not to be shared and while on breaks/Lunches please keep 2 meters apart, this is mandatory. Try to limit any outside contact with Drive-through food and drinks as much as possible.
  17. “Out of Country”? – Mandatory self-isolation for 14 days.
  18. Strict Garbage Policy – Nothing is to be picked up by hand or gloves (use garbage pickers/brooms that can be sterilized. No direct contact is to be made with any material left on the ground).
  19. All personal garbage is to be kept separate in vehicles and disposed of everyday in proper garbage containers.
    Water / Bucket & Soap are provided for hand washing, please make use of all the sanitary products provided to you in order to keep yourself & others safe and healthy.
  20. All employees are to wear masks at all times while around the public or co-workers. If entering the office cannot be avoided for any reason a mask must be worn. (Mandatory)
    Should you feel any type of Covid symptoms for example Fever, cough, headaches, etc. please stay home and get checked to ensure you are covid free? Once tested and you are negative, you must bring in your test results to the office ensure safety measures have been taken for yourself and all other co-workers.
